An itinerary describes the intended journey
A flight itinerary sets out where you plan to travel and when. The useful details are the passenger name, origin and destination, departure and return dates where relevant, and flight segments. A reservation may also carry an actual airline or booking-system reference. A route suggestion without a real hold must not be presented as a confirmed reservation.
Read the checklist's exact wording
Some authorities ask for a flight itinerary, others for a booking or travel reservation. Those words are not interchangeable in every application. Use the destination's current official checklist for your visa category rather than copying another traveller's document set.
If you are applying for a UK or US visitor visa, do not assume a Schengen flight-proof checklist applies. Requirements and the weight given to pre-booked travel differ.
Keep the document honest
A reservation hold is not paid travel and cannot be used to board a flight. Verify that the name and dates align with your form before submission. If the reservation expires, request an updated real hold rather than altering the confirmation or reusing a stale reference.

Requirements vary by destination and visa category. Check the relevant embassy or consulate’s current checklist. A reservation is not a paid ticket, is not valid for travel, and does not guarantee a visa.
